Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

I got this unit from Georges Music for about $450. I got it because I needed a good clean amp with pretty good distortion.

This is my main clean amp and i A/B switch this one between a Peavey 5150 II head. The distortion on this rocks, not as good as the Peavey though. But the clean is very, very nice. Warm and smooth and tons of power. Not as nice clean as the Twin amp but real nice.

Nothing really I don't like. It makes a little pop noise when shut off though . . .

This thing is built REAL tough. Like a tank. And it's a solid state hybrid so it'll take a beating. I replaced the 12AX7 tube with an Elewctro Harmonix one. Nice change.

For the price this is a great amp. It can really cover almost any style with the right tweaking. Truly a great buy.
